Hello, my name is Renae Petty.

I want to share a few personal things about myself, my preparation and my enthusiasm for teaching. I’ve been married since 1996 to Thomas A. Petty. I look forward to having 22 new students every year. I love watching the students as they grasp new concepts.

I have been teaching since 1993. I have taught pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia. I earned my Master of Arts in Education degree from Piedmont College. I attend training annually to remain highly trained and qualified to teach.

I grew up in Gordon County and attended Red Bud School all twelve years. After graduation from the University of Georgia I moved back to Gordon County.  I love the city of Fairmount and the friendly people who live here. I still remember the first day I walked into the school building and it felt like Red Bud did when I was little, like coming home. I work with Mrs. Denise Childers. She is a wonderful assistant in the classroom. We are fortunate to have Mrs. Curtis joining us this year.

Studies have shown that the success of the student is closely correlated to the involvement of the student’s family. I believe that together we will have a wonderful year that is full of learning. Please feel free to call me at the school if you have any questions or concerns. You may have to leave a voicemail. My extension is 2134. If you need to speak directly to me then you will want to call after 2:40p.m. I’m usually at the school until 4:00p.m. on most days.
