2016 Teacher of the Year

Experience

Gordon County  has been my home since I began my student teaching at Belwood Elementary in the spring of 2009. After graduating, I spent a year teaching intervention and in long term substitute positions. My first full year of teaching was in a Pre-K teaching Special Education Inclusion class. I then moved to 5th grade and taught Reading and Language Arts for 2 years before coming to Fairmount Elementary in 2013 where I have taught Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies. This school year I will be supporting students and teachers as the Literacy Specialist.

Bio

My husband of 17 years, and 2 daughters (Kylee 10 and Karlee 5) live in Pickens County.

My family and I love being outdoors and taking on new adventures. We enjoy vacations at the beach or camping in the mountains. We also love to trout fish in our spare time and spending quality time together. College football is another important part of our lives, and on Fall Saturdays, you will find us watching Georgia Football!!! Go Dawgs!!!!
